MortiSafe - Buying an Arduino
p>This page is about buying the parts to <a href="/index.php/Build_a_MortiSafe" title="Build a MortiSafe">Build a MortiSafe</a>.
The microcontroller board is an Arduino Diecimila or Freeduino (which is 100% compatible with Arduino). You can buy these quite cheap all over the place, such as in the UK from <a href="http://www.nuelectronics.com" class="external text" title="http://www.nuelectronics.com" rel="nofollow">NuElectronics</a>, their Freeduino board is <a href="http://www.nuelectronics.com/estore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1" class="external text" title="http://www.nuelectronics.com/estore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1" rel="nofollow">here</a> or on ebay for about UK£15 including postage. Also see the official <a href="http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Buy" class="external text" title="http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Buy" rel="nofollow">Buy an Arduino</a> page or <a href="http://www.freeduino.org/buy.html" class="external text" title="http://www.freeduino.org/buy.html" rel="nofollow">Buy a Freeduino</a> page.

I believe an Arduino Duemilanove would be just as good as an Arduino Diecimila, and possibly others in the Arduino range - if you try another board, please let me know.
For those in USA, this seems a well priced compatible product (US$24+shipping):
